I was there when John F. Kennedy was assassinated. My name is Cletus Thompson and at the time I was working in the CIA as a security officer protecting the life of the 35th President of the United States of America John F. Kennedy. It was Friday, November 22, 1963 a beautiful day in the Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas.
The President was about to make a speech to the people of Dallas, Texas. He was slowly riding through the streets of Dealey Plaza in his black 1961 Lincoln Continental and 3 other CIA officers and I were jogging beside the car to look for any threats to the president.
Eight minutes into the jog I glanced up to an old building as I saw a reflection of some sort. Then a BANG! I looked back to see the state of the president everyone was screaming another two shots were fired I then saw the state of the president…. He was dead. I did not notice any casualties but I was standing there in shock, as the President of the United States of America was dead!
Everyone was screaming and running I glanced at the building where I saw the reflection and I saw what I believed to be the shaft of a gun going back into the building from the window and I saw a dark shadow of a man who I believed was the perpetrator. One of my colleagues had to restrain the president’s wife, as she was frantic. Later on that night I watched the news and the man that killed the president of the United Sates of America was Lee Harvey Oswald. America was in shock as the 35th president of U.S.A was dead.
